Conventional Treatments of Gynecological Diseases

Conventional tools of diagnosis are clinical history and examination. Gynecological examination is quite intimate, more so than a routine physical exam. It also requires unique instrumentation such as the speculum. The speculum consists of two hinged blades of concave metal or plastic which are used to retract the tissues of the vagina and permit examination of the cervix, the lower part of the uterus located within the upper portion of the vagina.

Typically do a bimanual examination (one hand on the abdomen and one or two fingers in the vagina) to palpate the cervix, uterus, ovaries and bony pelvis. It is not uncommon to do a recto-vaginal exam for complete evaluation of the pelvis, particularly if any suspicious masses are apparent. Male gynecologists often have a female chaperone (nurse or medical student) for their examination. An abdominal and/or vaginal ultrasound can be used to confirm any abnormalities appreciated with the bimanual examination or when indicated by the patient's history.

To fight against gynecological diseases, there are two major types of conventional treatments -The first type is with pharmaceutical medicines, which encompasses applications of different dosage of antibiotics, antihypertensives, diuretics, antiemetics, hormonal contraception, clomifene etc. The second type is with surgery, which includes hysterectomy, tubal ligation, dilation, curettage, oophorectomy, hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, laproscopy, laparotomy, cystocele, rectocele, appendectomy, cervical excision procedures etc.

Our Treatment of Gynecological Diseases

At Patients Medical you will be treated with holistic gynecology. This treatment method combines the conventional treatments along with a holistic approach and supplement medicines. The core of gynecological treatment lies in understanding women's suffering and need, which only a woman can do. Our specialized team of experts is led by Dr. Satty Gill Keswani.

The holistic method of gynecological treatment moreover aims to complete cure of body, mind and soul that will not only heal your diseases, but will also better your life and relationships. We not only cure the disease, but help you to prevent it and to make your life healthier as well as more beautiful. Holistic gynecology combines the best of both worlds: the latest technological knowledge that conventional medicine has to offer, especially in the area of diagnostics, along with a range of complementary and alternative treatments your average MD is only beginning to learn about .

The conventional approach to Gynecology involves diagnosing and treating disease, whereas the holistic approach emphasizes creating a healthy body/mind/spirit which helps prevent disease. The holistic approach also looks to uncover the underlying cause of an illness and uses natural therapies targeted at the root cause. This approach can lead to faster, more complete healing with fewer medical interventions.

Many women want to incorporate alternative and natural methods of healing into their lives. Usually they prefer these methods. Often times when seeing a conventional physician, they are consciously or unconsciously belittled by the physician for their interest in this way of living and being.

It is quite understandable that a woman would prefer to seek care from a female gynecologist. Who would better know what she is going through, in relationship to these issues, than another woman. As a female Gynecologist Dr. Keswani understands women from a woman's perspective.
