As an energy kinesiologist, Heike Zelnhefer is an integral part of our healing team and frequently works in tandem with our physicians to help patients achieve health goals on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes. She combines her training in Applied Kinesiology (AK) with her experience in social work, counseling and hypnosis to offer comprehensive wellness strategies.
Prior to joining Patients Medical, Heike worked as a Physician Assistant, where she realized that rather than using Western Medicine to treat symptoms of disease, she preferred to take a preventive approach, promoting wellness. Her energy and passion inspires her clients to take an active interest in their own health, which helps speed the healing process. She has also worked in Brooklyn at the Woodhull Hospital, doing mobile crisis social work, and was a domestic violence counselor. She has led group counseling sessions and worked one-on-one with patients at Beth Israel Medical Center.
Heike received her Applied Kinesiology training from the International College of Healing Arts, the first college in the United States that provides an internationally recognized and academically accredited kinesiology curriculum. She holds a BA in Forensic Psychology, as Valedictorian of her class at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She earned a Masters in Social Work from New York University, and is also trained in Hypnosis and the power of the mind, aromatherapy, helping patients overcome communication barriers and relationship issues, attain personal growth and free themselves of substance, emotional and physical abuse.
