Patients Medical Innovative Cardiology and Heart Disease Prevention Program
Under the auspices of Patients Medical, Dr. Mack offers a complete cardiac health care program that combines the best of conventional medicine and complementary medicine for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Our intention is to stop cardiovascular disease from being the number-one health problem it presents today for both men and women in the United States. Patients Medical provides the following diagnostic tools:
- Echocardiography: Non-invasive ultrasound of the heart to visualize the heart's valves.
- Stress echocardiography: Ultrasound of the heart before and after treadmill exercise, to evaluate coronary artery disease.
- Carotid duplex scans: Non-invasive ultrasound of the arteries that supply blood to the brain, neck, face and head.
- Arrhythmia services: Include 24-hour ECG recordings and event monitors, to evaluate heart palpitations and irregular heartbeat.
- Tilt-table testing: A non-invasive diagnostic tool for the evaluation of fainting (syncope), hypotension, and rapid heart beat associated with positional changes.
- Cardiac risk factor blood panel: In addition to lipid profiles and metabolic chemistry panels, other tests may include high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, beta-: alpha-lipoprotein ratio, homocysteine, serum amyloid A, and interleukin 6.
Nearly 700,000 people die of heart disease in the U.S. each year—representing nearly 30% of all U.S. deaths! Yet our risk of coronary heart disease can be greatly reduced by taking measures to prevent and control those adverse factors that place us at danger for heart disease and heart attack. Risk factors that warrant our attention include poor diet and nutrition, lack of exercise, and stress.
With his patient-centered, systems-oriented approach, Dr. Mack treats the whole individual. Evaluating the patient's symptoms and factoring in the underlying antecedents and triggers of their condition, Dr. Mack creates an individualized treatment protocol that empowers his patients to practice simple, everyday choices that provide a springboard to improve health, well-being, and longevity.
