Testing, plan & follow-up
Women’s health issues are treated by finding the imbalance behind the symptoms and treating it directly. At Patients Medical, treatment starts with hormone, thyroid and metabolic testing, then a personalized plan that may combine hormone therapy, thyroid care, PCOS and insulin treatment, nutrition, gynecologic care, and sleep and stress treatment, all prescribed and monitored by an MD.
Hormone therapy, thyroid care, PCOS and insulin treatment, nutrition, gynecologic care, sleep and stress plans
Consultation and hormone testing first, then a plan that treats causes in the right order
Women with irregular cycles, PCOS, perimenopause or menopause symptoms, thyroid problems or pelvic pain
Sleep and mood often improve within weeks; cycles and hormones usually take a few months to settle
Our treatment is for women who have been told that fatigue, mood swings, heavy periods or weight gain are normal for their age. They are common, but they usually have a cause that can be measured and treated. If several of these symptoms sound familiar, it is time for a proper evaluation.

Many of these overlap, and one imbalance often feeds another. Your treatment plan addresses whichever of these your testing uncovers.
Each finding from your testing becomes part of your plan. These are the causes we treat most often, and most women have more than one.
Cycle-timed hormone testing shows where your levels sit. Treated with lifestyle changes, targeted supplements and hormone therapy when appropriate.
Hot flashes, poor sleep and mood changes are treated, with attention to your bones, heart and brain as well.
PCOS affects about 1 in 10 women, and most do not know they have it. Insulin, androgens and cycles are treated together.
Women are five to eight times more likely than men to have a thyroid problem. A full panel with antibodies guides treatment.
Long-term stress disrupts cycles, sleep and weight. Cortisol rhythm is tested and treated as part of the plan.
Digestion affects how hormones are processed and cleared. Gut problems are tested for and treated when symptoms point there.
Low iron, vitamin D, B12 and magnesium are common with heavy periods and restrictive diets. Tested, corrected and rechecked.
Endometriosis affects about 1 in 10 women and often takes years to diagnose. We pair gynecologic evaluation with inflammation-lowering care.
Your treatment follows four clear steps, so you always know what is being treated, why, and what comes next.
A 60–90 minute first visit covering your cycles, symptoms, pregnancies, medications, sleep, stress and family history.
As appropriate: estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, a full thyroid panel with antibodies, cortisol rhythm, insulin and glucose, iron, vitamin D and inflammation markers.
Hormone testing, Thyroid testing, Adrenal testing, Vitamin testing
Your physician treats the most important findings first, in sequence, and explains the benefits and risks of each option, including hormone therapy.
Regular follow-ups recheck your symptoms and labs, then adjust doses and nutrition as your body and life stage change.
Most plans combine two or more of these. Your physician recommends only what your results and symptoms support.
Treating estrogen, progesterone and testosterone imbalances with lifestyle changes, targeted supplements and hormone therapy when it is appropriate.
Relief for hot flashes, night sweats, sleep and mood changes, with a plan that also protects your bones, heart and brain.
Hormone therapy matched to your results and health history, started at a low dose and reviewed at every follow-up.
Nutrition, activity and medication when needed to improve insulin response, regulate cycles and ease acne and hair changes.
Full thyroid testing and carefully adjusted medication for hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, which are far more common in women.
Gynecologic evaluation and preventive screening alongside integrative care for pelvic pain, endometriosis and vaginal health.
Preparing your body for pregnancy by treating the thyroid, insulin, nutrient and hormone problems that affect ovulation.
An anti-inflammatory eating plan that steadies blood sugar and supports hormone balance at your stage of life.
Stress reduction, mind-body therapies and sleep treatment, because both drive hormone symptoms and are often overlooked.
Your testing, plan and prescriptions are directed by Rashmi Gulati, MD and gynecologist Dr. Emine Cosar.

Weight gain often comes with hormone shifts, PCOS and thyroid problems. When it does, your treatment plan covers both. If weight is your main concern, see our dedicated weight loss treatment program.

Hormonal imbalance, PMS and painful periods, PCOS, perimenopause and menopause, thyroid problems, pelvic pain and endometriosis, fertility concerns, low libido and vaginal health. Many women have more than one, so we assess them together.
Common signs are irregular or heavy periods, mood swings, poor sleep, hot flashes, weight gain, low libido and fatigue that does not lift. Symptoms alone cannot tell you which hormone is involved, so we test before treating. Hormonal imbalance in women
Common tests include estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, a full thyroid panel with antibodies, cortisol rhythm, insulin and glucose, iron, vitamin D and inflammation markers. Your physician chooses tests based on your symptoms, cycle and history. Hormone testing
For most healthy women who are under 60 or within 10 years of menopause, the benefits of hormone therapy outweigh the risks, according to The Menopause Society. It is not suitable for everyone, for example after breast cancer, blood clots or a stroke, so your physician reviews your history first. Are hormones safe?
Perimenopause is the transition, when hormone levels swing and periods become irregular; it usually begins in the mid-40s to mid-50s and can last several years. Menopause is reached after 12 months without a period. Both can be treated. Perimenopause explained
