If you have ongoing symptoms that routine tests have not explained, a functional medicine evaluation is a sensible next step. Your first visit tells us which tests to run and where to start.
New to this approach? Read our guide to functional medicine and why functional medicine.
We look at how your body’s systems affect each other, not one symptom in isolation. Every step is supervised by a physician.
A 60–90 minute first visit covering your symptoms, health timeline, diet, sleep, stress, environment and medications.
As appropriate: comprehensive bloodwork and nutrient panels, hormone and thyroid testing, gut microbiome analysis, food sensitivity, inflammation and metabolic markers, and toxin testing.
Your physician shows how your results connect and builds a plan that may combine nutrition, supplements, lifestyle changes and targeted therapies.
Follow-up visits track how you feel, and retesting when needed lets us adjust the plan as your health improves.
Most plans combine two or more of these. Your physician recommends only what your results and symptoms support.
Anti-inflammatory, gut-healing, metabolic or hormone-specific eating plans built around your results and daily life.
Supplements chosen from your lab results, and IV nutrient therapy when faster repletion makes sense.
Hormone and thyroid testing, with bioidentical hormones prescribed when clinically appropriate.
Protocols to rebalance the microbiome, calm gut inflammation and repair the gut lining.
Toxin testing, liver support and binder protocols for mold, heavy metal and chemical exposures.
Stress reduction, sleep optimization and mind-body practices such as acupuncture, because they shape every other system.
Individual results vary. Your physician will set realistic goals with you at your first visit.
Timelines depend on the severity of the imbalance, your age, other health conditions and the treatment approach.
Serving New York patients since 1974.
Every plan is prescribed and monitored by an MD.
We look for root causes, not just symptoms.
Deeper panels than a routine check-up.
Hormones, gut, immunity and lifestyle looked at together.
Sarah, 48, came to us with PMS, weight gain, insomnia and brain fog. Testing showed estrogen dominance, low progesterone, suboptimal thyroid function and gut imbalance. Over four months her plan combined low-dose BHRT, thyroid optimization, gut support, anti-inflammatory nutrition and stress-focused mind-body practices. Sarah reported regular cycles, better sleep, improved mood and a 15-pound weight loss, with follow-up labs confirming her progress.
